MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Due to impacts from Hurricane Ida throughout the southeast, the Alabama State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced it will move the ceremony honoring the 2004 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship team to the Turkey Day Classic against Tuskegee.
This will allow members of the team who have been impacted by the storm, or have families impacted, to remain with their loved ones through the cleanup phase. It will also allow ample time for each member of the team to be present when their team is recognized as part of the 120-year anniversary of Alabama State football.
The 2004 team and the 2010 SWAC Division champions will be honored November 25.
