QUOTES (head coach Jodie Smith)
"It is great to get the win, a big team effort. I am really pleased with our mental focus defensively, helping Sheila get the clean sheet for her first shutout as a Hornet. It was nice to have Zariya get on the scoreboard for her first goal in her first match of the season. We looked dangerous all night, and this was our best performance of the season in the final third.
"We just have to get back to Montgomery and look to keep it going Sunday against a good Gardner-Webb team."
UP NEXT
Alabama State (1-4) returns to the ASU Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon to face Gardner-Webb. The match starts at 2 pm, and just a reminder that Alabama State University is a mask-mandatory campus.
