MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns home for the first time in two weeks on Monday night, hosting Florida A&M in a key Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest.
Tip is set for 8 pm (CT) and will be carried by the Hornet Sports Network. A negative COVID test within the last 72 hours is required for entry into the Dunn-Oliver Acadome, and tickets can be purchased at the ASU Ticket Office located at ASU Stadium. Masks are mandatory at all times while visiting the Alabama State campus.
Alabama State (5-15, 4-4 SWAC) returns to action following a win over Bethune-Cookman in the Bridge Builders Classic on Saturday night in Mobile, coming back from a ten-point second half deficit. The Hornets find themselves just two games back of league-leading Southern and Alcorn State entering the contest, and are being led by
Trace Young (Owensboro, Ky.) who scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the win on Saturday night. The junior is averaging 16.5 points per game in conference play and has scored in double figures the last four games.

The junior has scored in double figures in each conference game, including 21 against Bethune-Cookman. He is joined in double figures by Kenny Strawbridge (Rockford, Ill.) at 11.4 and Isaiah Range (Cedar Hill, Texas) at 11.1.
- Range recorded a career-high seven steals against Texas Southern on Monday night in Houston.
- The Hornets have started 13 different lineups this season and have had their full squad for just one conference game to this point. They are second in the nation in the number of starting lineups used this season, trailing only Memphis.
- Alabama State has played a pair of teams that were ranked at the time (Texas and Texas Tech) and played Iowa State who climbed to as high as eighth in the polls. They also played Iowa (receiving votes), before games against No. 4/3 UCLA and Memphis (receiving votes) were postponed due to COVID-19 protocols inside their opponents' programs.
- The Hornets have the fourth toughest schedule in the country according to ESPN trailing only conference foes Prairie View A&M, Alcorn State, and Texas Southern.
