MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Alabama State women's volleyball team picked up their third-straight win as they secured a 3-1 victory over Southern University on Monday, October 10, 2022, in the final match of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Cluster hosted by Alabama State.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Alabama State won the first set in convincing fashion with an 11-point win to take a 1-0 set lead.
• A'Nylah Cobb finished set one with four kills, followed by Jada Rhodes with three in the first frame.
• SU responded with a narrow two-point victory (25-23) in set two to knot the set score at one apiece. 
• The Lady Hornets extended their set advantage to 2-1 with a 25-14 third-set win over the Jaguars. 
• Both teams battled back and forth in the fourth frame but Alabama State emerged victorious with a 25-23 win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 

• Alabama State registered 55 kills on 144 total attacks with an attack percentage of .201 in the win.
• Southern managed 34 kills on 122 total attacks and a .115 hit percentage.
• Jada Rhodes (17), Kalysia Bates (11), and Taniya Jones (10) led the way for the Hornets in kills.
• Brooke Adams recorded season-highs in aces (9), assists (23), and points (10).
• Madison Beasley tallied 16 assists for the Lady Hornets.
• Temperance Chatman led the Hornets in digs with 18, followed by Lexy Lewis with 12.
