PITTSBURGH, PA | TJ Madlock posted a double-double but the Alabama State University men's basketball team went cold in the second half as the University of Pittsburgh (1-3) claimed a 73-54 win on Sunday.

Madlock's scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to register the first double-double for the Hornets this season.Â

The Hornets started the second half 2-of-25 from the field and finished the half 9-of-37 and 1-of-13 from beyond the arc.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pitt held a 10-2 lead at the under-16 media timeout before a 5-0 spurt by the Hornets.
- TJ Madlock's 3-point play at the 13:03 point cut the Panthers' lead to 10-7.Â
- The Hornets went on a 9-0 run to take a 16-13 on a three by Roland McCoy jumper with 10:57 left in the opening half.Â
- ASU got layups from Range and Duane Posey, along with a Posey free throw to build a 26-18 lead with 8:03 to go before halftime.Â
- A Posey steal and layup and an Amarr Knox basket increased the ASU lead to 30-18 with 5:30 left in the first half.
- The Panthers outscored the Hornets 13-4 to close the half and trim the ASU lead to 34-31.Â
