HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blazers started 5-of-7 from the field, including a pair of three-pointers for an early 15-5 lead at the 16:23 mark of the first half.
- Trailing 15-5, Alabama State used a 10-0 run to even the game at 15-15 with 13:23 to go in the half.
- UAB stretched a 22-19 lead with a 14-0 run to take a 33-19 advantage with under eight minutes left in the opening half.
- The Hornets shot 31 percent and the Blazers shot 50 percent from the floor to carry a 53-34 lead into halftime.
- ASU was 4-of-13 while UAB was 7-of-9 from the field as the Blazers built a 71-45 lead in the opening five-plus minutes of the second half.
