LUBBOCK, Texas | Jayla Crawford logged a game-high 22 points but the Lady Hornets fell to the Texas Tech Red Raiders 91-56 on Thursday night inside United Supermarkets Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 6-5 lead just five minutes into the contest behind three free throws from Jayla Crawford and a three-pointer from Samiya Steele.
  • Despite the early lead, Alabama State fell behind 17-10 heading into the second frame.
  • Samiya Steele drained two three-pointers in the second quarter but the Red Raiders' advantage grew to 13 points (42-29).
  • Jayla Crawford logged five points in the third quarter despite TTU's lead swelling to 72-45 going into the fourth.
  • Crawford finished with a game-high 22 points but the Lady Hornets fells short to the Red Raiders 91-56.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Jayla Crawford led all scorers with a game-high and season-high 22 points on 6-of-19 shooting from the field. Crawford also went 8-of-9 from the free throw line with two steals to add to her stat line.
  • Samiya Steele recorded 13 points with five assists and three rebounds.
  • Ryin Tillis, Cordasia Harris, and Dakiyah Sanders recorded six rebounds apiece. Tillis also registered ASU's only block.
  • Alabama State registered 18 fast break points and 16 points in the paint while shooting 39% from the floor.
