Cordasia Harris, and Jayala Crawford combined for 48 points to help Alabama State University women's basketball hold on for a 58-56 win over the University of South Alabama on Saturday at the Mitchell Center.

Emmanuel paced the Hornets with 20 points followed by Harris with 15 points and Crawford with 13 points.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- A pair Emmanuel 3-pointers gave the Hornets an early 8-4 lead just five minutes into the opening quarter.Â
- The Hornets were dialed in from beyond the arc, making 4-of-8 3-pointers to carry a 17-13 into the second quarter.Â
- Two free throws each by Kristian Jackson and Crawford put the Hornets up 21-13 with 7:21 left in the second quarter.
- Tristen Washington cut the ASU advantage to 23-22 with a three at the 4:48 mark of the second quarter.Â
- Emmanuel dialed up her fourth 3-pointer pushed the lead out to 26-22 with 3:22 left in the first half.Â
- The Hornets held South Alabama scoreless for the final 2:53 of the second quarter, holding a 29-26 lead on the strength of two Harris free throws with 18 seconds to go in the half.Â
- USA started the second half with a 6-1 run to take a 32-30 lead at the 7:31 mark.Â
- ASU scored the next four points to grab a 34-32 lead after two Harris free throws.Â
- Samiya Steele made a layup to give ASU A 38-34 lead with 4:34 remaining in the third quarter.
