HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hornets held leads of 6-4 at the 17:51 mark and 8-6 at the 16:56 point of the first half.
- Alabama State held an 11-10 lead before a 9-2 run by Memphis put the Tigers up 19-13.
- A Range 3-pointer trimmed the Memphis lead to 25-22 with just over 8:00 left in the first half.
- The Tigers went on a 10-0 run to take a 35-22 lead on an Elijah McCadden dunk with 5:02 remaining.
- Alabama State ended a 4:23 scoreless stretch with a Range 3-pointer with 4:02 to go in the first half.
- An Anderson layup following a Duane Posey steal cut the Tigers' lead to 38-29 with just under 3:00 to play in the first half.
- A three-point play with :15 to go in the opening half cut deficit to 47-37 at halftime.
- Memphis stretched the lead to 59-40 on a 12-3 run to start the second half.
- The Tigers would build the lead to as many as 26 points shooting 62 percent through the 15 minutes mark of the second half to pull away.
