AUBURN, Ala. | Alabama State came up short on the road against No. 24 Auburn, falling 4-0 in non-conference action on Sunday evening.
Auburn (8-0) was able to claim the doubles' point with a pair of 6-3 victories at number one and number three, while
Ruan De Preez (Cape Town, South Africa) and
Samrakshyak Bajracharya (Katmandu, Nepal) dropped a 6-4 match at number two to Jan Galka and Tyler Stice – ranked No. 44 in the nation.
The Tigers were able to claim the match with three singles' victories including a 6-1, 6-1 victory by No. 84 Galka. They also got wins at number five and number six to win the overall match. Meanwhile,
Chris Andre (Berlin, Germany) pushed No. 95 Stice as their match was still in process when the overall match was decided with Stice leading 7-6 (3), 3-0.
