Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 JACKSON, Miss. | Alabama State swept Mississippi Valley State in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opener at the SWAC Pod I on Saturday.

On the men's side, Alabama State (1-3, 0-1 SWAC) swept the Delta Devils, dropping just one point in the process. The Hornets won all three doubles matches by a score of 6-0 to claim the point and go ahead 1-0. The clinched the match with three singles wins all by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores.

Meanwhile, the women swept through Mississippi Valley State with a pair of 6-0 wins in doubles to grab a quick 1-0 lead. They were able to clinch the match with three singles victories by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores – all at the top three positions.
