GAME NOTES
- Saturday's game is the 21st matchup in the all-time series, yet just the second meeting between these two programs as Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponents.
- Alabama State has won the last three meetings in the series – including one in Tallahassee – however, Florida A&M leads the series 14-7. The Hornets hold a 2-11 record against the Rattlers in Tallahassee.
- Alabama State is coming off a pair of home wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Feb. 12) and Mississippi Valley State (Feb. 14) to extend their current win streak to three games.
- All-SWAC performers Jayla Crawford (Birmingham, Ala.), Ayana Emmanuel (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Shmya Ward (Memphis, Tenn.) are leading the Hornets this season, as Emmanuel and Ward average over 13 points and four rebounds per game, while Crawford currently averages 9.7 points and two rebounds a game.
- Florida A&M is 3-20 overall and 4-9 in conference play in their first year as members of the SWAC after moving from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). They are currently 1-6 on the road.
- The Rattlers have two double figure scorers on the season, led by Dylan Horton at 16.6Â points and Anisja Harris scoring 14.4Â points per contest. Harris is coming off her team-leading sixth 20-point performance of the year in an overtime win over Alcorn State, while Staysha Allen recorded her first double-double of her career against the Braves.
