MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State hits the road for the final time in 2022 when it travels north to Huntsville to face Alabama A&M in a key Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest.

Alabama State (7-20, 6-9 SWAC) finds itself a half-game back of Jackson State for the eighth and final spot in the conference tournament and a game back of Prairie View A&M for the seventh spot. Alabama A&M (9-16, 8-7 SWAC) is currently in sixth place in the standings.

The two teams met previously this season in Montgomery with the Hornets winning a 59-55 contest behind 15 points from Trace Young (Owensboro, Ky.) and 13 points from E.J. Clark (Dallas, Texas). Isaiah Range (Cedar Hill, Texas) chipped in with 11 in the victory.

• Kenny Strawbridge (Rockford, Ill.) had a career night against Bethune-Cookman on national television on Monday night, scoring 28 points and dishing out six assists.
• Alabama State has dropped three games at the buzzer this season, all in conference play, and have lost two others by five points or less.
• Alabama State finds itself a half game back of Jackson State for the final spot in the conference tournament with three games left to play and the tiebreaking procedures are as follows: (two teams) head-to-had competition, point differential between the two schools that are tied, record against highest seeded teams, coin toss, and (three teams) record between tied teams, record against highest seeded teams.
• The Hornets have started 18 different line-ups this season, the most in the NCAA and 10 different players have appeared in the starting lineup this season.
