MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State hits the road on Wednesday afternoon, heading south on 231 to face in-state foe Troy. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm at the Lunsford Tennis Center.
Alabama State (0-1) has played just one match this season due to weather, falling to Samford 7-0 back on January 22. They also had their match against Columbus State, scheduled for February 4, postponed due to weather in central Alabama.
In their lone match of the season, the doubles team of
Bea Acena (Dubai, UAE) and
Urska Velec (Maribor, Slovenia) picked up a win at number three doubles. In singles play,
Sahra Bouchaala (Aix-En-Provence, France) pushed her match to three sets before dropping the final set in a tiebreaker at number two.
Alabama State and Troy last met in February 2021 with the Trojans coming away with a 5-2 victory, while the Trojans have won the last ten meetings between the two schools.
