MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State split their final two games of the Black & Gold Tournament at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex on Saturday. The Hornets defeated Eastern Kentucky in the day's first game 3-1, before falling to Nicholls State 7-5 in the nightcap.

Bailey Greenlee (5-7) picked up the win in game one giving up just one run off three hits with three strikeouts. Although the Hornets were held to just six hits in the opener,
Kindall DeRamus finished 2-for-2 with a run scored. In the nightcap,
Myia Lewis (1-2) suffered the loss against Nicholls, working just one inning and allowing a pair of runs on two hits.
Madison Myers led Alabama State at the plate going 2-for-3, while
Kiana Parrish finished 2-for-4.
Alex Massie finished 2-for-3 in the nightcap.
How It Happened (Game One)
- T5 | Eastern Kentucky broke the scoreless with a solo shot in the frame (1-0, EKU).
- B5 | Jazmine Dodd drove home the first run of the game for Alabama State with an RBI single, plating Bailey Greenlee, before Kiana Parrish singled to right center driving in two for the final margin (3-1, Alabama State).
How It Happened (Game Two)
- T1 | Nicholls got on the board first with a triple and an infield single (2-0, Nicholls).
- B2 | Lea Richardson put Alabama State on the board with a two-run single through the right side to tie things up (2-2).
- T3 | Nicholls State scored four in the inning with a double, single, throwing error (6-2, Nicholls).
- T6 | After three scoreless innings, Nicholls was able to get back on the board with a fielder's choice (7-2, Nicholls).
- B6 | Destinee Dixon was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Arianna Atchley from third before Jazmine Dodd drove in a pair for the final margin (7-5, Nicholls)
