ATLANTA, Ga. | Alabama State dropped a 4-0 decision to Georgia State on the road Sunday afternoon, with two matches being forced to a tiebreaker prior to the match being decided.
The Match
- Georgia State claimed the doubles' point by winning at number two and three and leading at number one when the point was decided. The Alabama State team of Urska Velec (Mariobor, Slovenia) and Anja Hribljan (Nova Sad, Serbia) dropped a 6-3 decision at number two, while the number three team of Sahra Bouchaala (Aix-En-Provence, France) and Timothee Legaud (Severac, France) fell 6-2.
- In singles play, Georgia State was able to win straight set matches at number two, three and four to win the overall match.
- Although they did not score in singles, Velec pushed her first set to a tiebreaker at number three against Alexia Alvarez at 7-6. Her teammate, Bouchaala also pushed her match to a first set tiebreaker to Eva Chivu.

- Alabama State hosts the SWAC Pod II next weekend in Montgomery, facing Bethune Cookman in the opener on Thursday (March 10). They will also face Prairie View A&M, Grambling State, and Southern to close out the weekend.
