• Gardner-Webb took a 1-0 lead on a strike from Maddie Turlington off of an assist from Autumn Woodard in the 47th minute. 
• Alabama State knotted the score at 1-1 in the 52nd minute when Kassandra Shoen found the back of the net on a feed from McKenna Lupori.
• Gardner-Webb reclaimed the lead, 2-1 on a penalty kick goal from Maddie Turlington in the 72nd minute.
