PASADENA, Calif. – UCLA (1-0) scored 31 first half points on the way to a 45-7 win over the Alabama State University (2-0) football on Saturday afternoon at Rose Bowl Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- UCLA found the end zone twice in the opening quarter to take a quick 14-0 lead.
- Keagan Jones scored on a two-yard run to give the Bruins a 7-0 lead with 7:58 left in the first quarter.
- Hudson Habermehl hauled a 25-yard touchdown pass from Dorian Thompson-Robinson for a 14-0 advantage heading into the second quarter.
- Myles Crawley completed a 21-yard scoring strike to Jeremiah Hixon to cut the UCLA lead in half at 14-7 with 13:53 remaining in the second quarter.
- Ethan Garbers scored on a five-yard run and added a two-yard rushing touchdown to make the score 31-7 at halftime.
- A 13-yard scoring run by T.J. Harden on UCLA's opening drive of the third quarter gave the Bruins a 38-7 lead.
- Christian Grubb added a seven-yard run midway through the fourth quarter for a 45-7 UCLA advantage.
OFFENSIVE NOTABLES
- Crawley completed 16-of-27 passes for 177 yards and a touchdown in his first start of the season.
- Hixon had four receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown as one of seven different receivers to catch a pass.
- La'Vontae Shenault had a team-high 45 yards in receptions on three catches.
- Alabama State totaled 310 yards, 223 passing, and 87 yards rushing.
DEFENSIVE NOTABLES
- The Hornets held UCLA to 4-of-9 on third down conversions while holding the Bruins on the day.
- Irshaad Davis posted a career-high eight ackles eclipsing his mark of 11 against Prairie View A&M.
- Jeffery Scott recorded a eight tackles, including seven solo stops for the Hornets' defense.
- Adrian Maddox posted his SWAC-best second interception of the season.
- Colton Adams had seven tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage.
