MONTGOMERY, Ala. - McKinley Hacker and Kassandra Shoen both found the back of the net to help push the Alabama State University Hornets to their first victory of the season with a 2-1 win over cross-town opponent Faulkner University on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the ASU Soccer Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Faulkner wasted no time getting points on the board as Annabel Cuthbert found the back of the net just one minute into the game to put the Eagles up 1-0 early on.. 
• The Lady Hornets came to life in the second half after McKinley Hacker fired in a score in the 55th minute.
• Kassandra Shoen recorded her second goal of the season in the 68th minute on an assist from Elli Higashi to extend the Hornets advantage to 2-1 in the second half.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Alabama State registered 13 shots with five on target while Faulkner managed six shot with three on goal.
• Sheila Sanchez tallied two saves with just one goal allowed for ASU in the win.
