HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alabama State grabbed an early 14-8 lead on a 6-2 run that culminated with two Alex Anderson free throws at the 14:34 mark.
- The Bulldogs went on a 7-0 run to erase the deficit and take a 15-14 lead.
- A 7-0 run gave AAMU a 24-18 lead after a Garrett Hicks 3-pointer 7:55 to go before haltime.
- The Hornets fought back to within 24-26 on consecutive slam dunks by Jordan O'Neal with 5:22 left.
- Roland McCoy made two straight 3-pointers to keep the Hornets down by two at 34-32 with under 3:00 to go in the first half.
- Alabama State shot 44 percent from the floor and made four 3-pointers to trail 41-36 at halftime.
- Alabama State started the second half with an 8-0 run to take a 44-43 lead with 3:00 gone off the clock.
