MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Ayana Emmanuel, Jayla Crawford, and Shmya Ward scored in double figures to lift Alabama State University women's basketball to a thrilling 77-74 overtime win over Prairie View A&M University on Saturday at the Acadome.
 
Emmanuel and Crawford scored 23 points apiece while Ward added 12 to join the Lady Hornets' 1,000-career points club.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Shmya Ward's layup tied the game at 5-5 and erased an early 5-0 Lady Panthers lead.
• Desiree Lewis gave Prairie View a 13-9 lead before another Ward layup tied the game with :17 seconds to go in the first quarter.
• Mikayla Hutchinson hit a 3-pointer from the corner at the buzzer to give the Lady Panthers a 16-13 lead heading to the second quarter.
• Crawford and Emmanuel hit back-to-back 3-pointers to stake the Lady Hornets to a 30-26 lead with 2:07 left in the second quarter.
• Emmanuel would hit a free throw to hand Alabama State a 31-30 at intermission.
• The third quarter saw 10 ties and 11 lead changes as the Lady Panthers carried a 47-46 lead into the final quarter.
• Crawford made a pair of layups to push the Lady Hornets to a 54-41 lead at the 5:47 mark fo the fourth quarter.
• Desiree Lewis gave Prairie view a 55-54 lead with under 5:00 to play before an Emmanuel basket put ASU 57-55 at the 2:39 mark.
• Alabama State grabbed a 60-57 lead after two Emmanuel free throws with 1:31 left in the contest.
• The Lady Panthers tied the game at 60 before a Crawford jumper put the Hornets ahead 62-60 with :41 left in the contest.
• Diane Rosenthal's 3-pointer with :07 sent the game to overtime tied 63-63.
• An Alabama State 6-0 run forged the Lady Hornets to a 70-65 lead in overtime.
• A 7-0 Prairie View run tied the game 72-70 with :51 to go.
• Alabama State outscored Prairie View 7-2 in the final taking a 77-74 lead on an Emmanuel free throw with :06 left in overtime.
