HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Texas Southern took an 11-6 lead before a Jayla Crawford 3-pointer tied the score 11-11.
- Alabama State ended the first quarter on a 5-0 run to take a 21-17 lead.
- The Lady Tigers used a 6-0 run to tie the game at 23-23 on a Skye Green jump shot at the 8:00 mark of the second quarter.
- Crawford made her second 3-pointer of the first half to give Alabama State a 32-27 lead with 5:42 remaining in the second quarter.
- Brazyll Watkins called bank on a 3-pointer and converted the free throw after she got fouled on the play to give Alabama State a 43-39 lead.
- Tied 45-45, Alabama State went on a 14-2 run to build a 59-47 on an Emmanuel 3-pointer with 4:40 left in the third quarter.
- Texas Southern cut the ASU lead to 61-58 on a 12-2 run to close the third stanza.
- The run wound up an 18-4 run as the Lady Tigers claimed a 64-63 with just over 7:00 left in the final quarter.
- Alabama State made 11-of-14 free throws in the final 2:45 of the contest to earn the 81-73 win.
