Emmanuel Named SWAC Impact Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama State senior Ayana Emmanuel the women's basketball Impact Player of the Week after dominating performances in conference play this past weekend.

Emmanuel was tabbed Impact Player of the Week after scoring a combined 43 points in two contests this past week while averaging 21.5 points per game. She registered 23 points during ASU's win over PVAMU on Saturday and followed that up with a 20-point performance during a Hornets' win over Texas Southern on Monday. Emmanuel also averaged 7.0 rebounds per game, 3.5 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per game while playing 39.1 minutes per contest.

The Lady Hornets return to the court on Saturday, January 28, as they head to Daytona Beach, Florida to take on Bethune-Cookman in conference action at 1 p.m. CT.
