MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama State University put the tying and go-ahead runs on base in the seventh but could not capitalize as Western Carolina held on for a 1-0 win in game two of the Stinger Classic on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Western Carolina scored its lone run in the top of the first.
- Brooklyn Brewington drew a leadoff walk and advanced to third after stealing second base.
- Bailee Honeycutt got caught in a run-down on a steal attempt to score Brewington.
- Alexea Denby and Kiana Parrish delivered two-out singles and were on second and third when a ground out ended the threat and the game.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Starter Bailee Greenlee allowed a run on four hits with a pair of strikeouts over 5.0 innings as the pitcher of record for the Lady Hornets.
- Taylor North scattered four hits over 7.0 scoreless innings with two strikeouts to earn the complete game win.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Kindal DeRamus, Alex Preson, Denby, and Parrish accounted for the Lady Hornets' four hits.
- Bailey Treadway and Samantha Reele had two hits apiece to lead the Catamounts.
