HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jordan O'Neal gave the Hornets an early 5-4 lead before an 11-0 run gave MVSU a 14-6 lead with 14:35 to play in the first half.
- Alex Anderson made a layup to cut the MVSU lead to 21-17 with under nine minutes to go in the first half.
- MVSU outscored the Hornets 16-5 to take a 40-27 lead into halftime.
- The Hornets climb within six at 47-41 after a pair of O'Neal free throws five minutes into the second half.
- MVSU's lead hovered around 11 points before Damien Madison cut the deficit to 59-54 at the 8:38 mark.
- The Hornets cut the MVSU lead to 67-63 with 2:35 to go in the game on a 3-pointer by Roland McCoy.
- MVSU stretched the lead back to double digits following Kadar Waller free throws with 34 seconds left in the contest.
