MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University men's basketball team placed four players in double figures but dropped a hard-fought 70-65 decision to Bethune-Cookman University on Monday at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 9-7, TJ Madlock hit a 3-pointer to give ASU a 10-9 lead with 15:09 left in the first half.
- A Jordan O'Neal 3-point play gave the Hornets a 13-9 lead with just over 13 minutes to go in the first half.
- Roland McCoy cut the deficit to 21-20 at the 6:41 mark of the first half only to see the Wildcats stretch the lead out to 28-22 with 4:13 left in the half.
- McCoy and O'Neal combined for 16 points in the first half as the Hornets trailed 36-29 at halftime.
- The Hornets began the second half on a 10-0 run that saw Madlock score 8 of the 10 points to give ASU a 39-36 lead with 16:59 left.
- BCU used a 10-2 run to retake the lead and make the score 48-43 with just over 11 minutes to play in the second half.
- McCoy hit a 3-pointer to end a 3:44 ASU scoring drought and trim a seven-point deficit to 57-54 with 4:51 left in the contest.
- The Wildcats pushed the lead to 70-62 after three Dhashan Dyson free throws with less than a minute to go in the second half.
