MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Eric Coleman's apparent game-winning 3-pointer was waved off with 3.3 seconds left as the Alabama State University men's basketball team dropped a heartbreaking 55-50 loss to Alabama A&M University on Saturday at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alabama A&M jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead before Jordan O'Neal tied the game with 3:15 gone off the first half clock.
- Eric Coleman hit a 3-pointer to give the Hornets an 11-8 lead around the 15-minute mark.
- AAMU held a 19-15 lead only to see Alabama State fight back to tie the game 20-20 with 8:09 to go in the first half.
- Trailing 30-22, Alabama State used a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 30-29 at the half following a Coleman dunk.
- Both teams came out cold before a Messiah Thompson broke the 3:05 drought.
- Roland McCoy hit back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Hornets a 35-34 lead with 15:27 to go in the second half.
- Damian Madison hit a 3-pointer and a TJ Madlock gave the Hornets a 40-38 lead with under 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
- AAMU's Cameron Tucker hit two free throws to give the Bulldogs a 51-49 lead with less than two minutes remaining.
- TJ Madlock made a free throw and O'Neal blocked a shot give the Hornets a final offensive possession to win the game.
- Coleman drained a 3-pointer with 3.3 seconds left only to have the field goal waved off after the officials called a flagrant foul after a review of the play.
- Alabama A&M was awarded two free throws and the ball, eventually making four free throws to take a 55-50 lead.
