HOW IT HAPPENED
- P.J. Byrd gave Southern a 9-0 lead two minutes into the first half.
- Duane Posey cut the deficit to 14-6 before Southern went on a 5-0 run to build their lead to 19-6 midway through the first half.
- An Alex Anderson 3-pointer cut the Jaguars' 19-12 at the 8:57 mark of the first half.
- Eric Coleman's layup made the score 29-18 before an 11-0 run lifted the Jaguars to a 38-18 advantage with 39 seconds to go.
- Roland McCoy hit a 3-pointer with 17 seconds left to close the gap to 38-31 at halftime.
- McCoy hit a layup at the end of a 5-0 run to cut the deficit to 42-38 at the 18:00 mark of the second half.
- The Hornets got within 10, 46-36, on a Kendal Parker 3-pointer with 13:25 remaining in the second half.
- Southern answered with an 8-1 run to build the lead back to 54-37 midway through the second half.
- The Hornets went on a 9-0 run to make the score 60-48 with 4:25 left in the second half.
- Sutherrn did not allow the lead to get below points for the rest of the way.
