MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Ian Matos hit two home runs but Alabama State University could erase a 6-0 deficit in a 6-4 loss to Georgia State University on Tuesday at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Georgia State loaded the bases in the second but ASU starter Marcos De. Valle get two straight strikeouts to end the threat.
- The Panthers plated two runs in the top of the third. JoJo Jackson scored on a wild pitch and a Will Mize. RBI single to make the score 2-0.
- Cameron Jones singled and scored to extend the Panthers' lead in the fourth.
- Michael Maginnis hit a solo home and Matt Ruiz hit a two-run home in the sixth for a 6-0 lead.
- The Hornets cracked the scoreboard with three runs to cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the sixth. Ian Matos hit a home run to left with Cristian Lopez on with a single and Trenton Jamison double home Kyler McIntosh.
- Matos led off the eighth with his second home run of the game to cut the GSU lead to 6-4.

- Marcos De Valle (0-2) yielded a run on two hits with three walks and two strikeouts to take the loss for Alabama State.
- Davis Chastain (1-1) gave up one run on one hit with three strikeouts in 3.0 innings to register the win.
- Ricardo Rivera, Austin King and McIntosh logged scoreless innings in relief for the Hornets.
- Zach Ottinger (1) got the save with a scoreless ninth for the Panthers.
