MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alexia Denby hit three home runs and had seven RBI to lead Alabama State University to a 15-5 run-rule win over Mississippi Valley State at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex on Saturday.

 HOW IT HAPPENED    
  • Alexia Denby hit a solo home run to give ASU a 1-0 lead in the first.   
  • The Delta Deveilettes scored four runs in the second to take a 4-1 lead.  
  • Alabama State scored nine runs over the second and third innings to take a 10-4 lead.   
  • Madison Myers and Jaeda Gardner had RBI singles and Alex Preston drove in two runs with a single in the second  
  • Denby highlighted the five-run third with a three-run round-tripper while Jaeda Gardner got another run home on a single to left field.   
  • MVSU/plated a run in the fifth before the Lady Hornets put up two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to end the game.   
  • Denby capped the game with a three-run home run in the sixth.   
IN THE CIRCLE   
  • Oliva Brown (4-0) yielded five unearned runs on four hits with three strikeouts to earn the win for the Lady Hornets.  
  • Glenenabah Tsosie was touched up for 15 runs on 18 hits with a strikeout to take the loss.
