HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alex Preston got ASU on the Board with an RBI double in the first.
- Alabama State plated eight runs in the second to build the lead to 9-0.
- Alana Scott doubled home two runs and Jasmine Rogers had an RBI single. Preston and Alexia Denby drew bases-loaded walks in the inning and two more runs scored on ground outs.
- The Bulldogs cut the deficit to 9-4 with a run in the third and three runs in the third.
- The Lady Hornets took a 13-4 lead with a four-run fourth highlighted by Kennedy Alsborok's two-run single.
- AAMU plated two runs in the fifth to make the score 13-6.
- Jaeda Gardner and Kindall DeRamus scored on ground outs as Alabama State increased its lead to 15-6 in the sixth.
- The Bulldogs scored four runs to cut the ASU lead to 15-10 before a Scott single in the seventh pushed the advantage to 16-10.
- AAMU closed the scoring with a home run in the bottom of the seventh.
