@BamaStateSB Walks Off FAMU on Scotts RBI single

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alana Scott's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Alabama State softball team a 5-4 win over Florida A&M University on Wednesday at the Barbara Wiliams Softball Complex.

 HOW IT HAPPENED  
  • Kindall DeRamus reached on a infield single and came home on a throwing error after Madison Myers reached on an infield single for 1-0 Alabama State lead.  
  • A pair of two-run doubles by Destiny Cuevas and Nyah Morgan gave FAMU a 4-1 lead in the top of the third inning.  
  • Alex Preston hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning to cut the deficit to 4-3.  
  • Kiana Parrish sacrifice fly to center field tied the contest 4-4 in the fifth.  
  • Aleix Denby and Preston drew walks to start the seventh inning. Denby scored on Scott's single up the middle after moving to third a double steal.  
IN THE CIRCLE 
  • Bailey Greenlee (9-5) went the distance for the sixth time this season, recording 10 strikeouts while allowing four runs on nine hits.  
  • Nadia Zenteno (4-4) suffered the loss for the Rattlers, allowing five runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.   
INSIDE THE BOX  
  • Preston's third inning home run was her fourth of the season.  
  • The Lady Hornets stole seven bases led by DeRamus and Denby each with two steals.  
  • DeRamus, who went 2-for-4, is now 27-for-27 on the season in stolen bases.
