MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State softball team rallied from a 5-0 deficit to claim a 7-5 win over Florida A&M University in the nightcap of a doubleheader on Saturday at the Barbara Wiliams Softball Complex.
The Lady Hornets dropped game one of the doubleheader 15-4 in six innings but the nightcap gave ASU the 2-1 series win.

HOW IT HAPPENED | GM 1
- Jane'a Mobley's two-run double gave FAMU a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
- Madison Myers walked and scored on an Alex Preston double to cut the lead to 2-1.
- FAMU scored four runs in the second to build a 5-1 lead. Natasha Fox hit a solo home run to highlight the inning.
- A Kindall DeRamus tripled in two runs in the bottom of the second to cut the FAMU lead to 5-3.
- FAMU added a run in the third and two in the fifth to make the score 8-3.
- Alexia Denby's RBI single cut the FAMU lead to 8-5 before FAMU added six runs in the sixth to take a 15-4 lead.
IN THE CIRCLE | GM 1
- Oliva Brown (4-2) gave up five runs on six hits to take the loss in the circle.
- Lauryn Peppers went 4.2 innings, yielding four runs on seven hits with four strikeouts to pick up the win.

- Alex Preston went 2-for-3 with an RBI and DeRamus had an RBI double.
HOW IT HAPPENED | GM 2
- FAMU grabbed a 5-0 lead, scoring two runs in the first and three in the second.
- Jaeda Gardner singled and scored on a Denby sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to 5-1 in the third.
- The Lady Hornets struck for three runs in the fourth to trail 5-4. DeRamus had an RBI single and two runs scored on RBI groundouts.
- Alana Scott highlighted a three-run fifth with a two-run single to give Alabama State a 7-5 lead.
- Florida A&M loaded the bases with one out in the seventh. Bailey Greenlee got a pair of ground outs, including cutting down a run at the plate to preserve the win.
IN THE CIRCLE | GM 2
- Greenlee (10-5) tossed her second complete game and earned her second win in the series. Greenleey struck out seven and gave up six runs on nine hits.
- Nadia Zenteno (4-6) was saddled with the loss, allowing three runs on four hits with a strikeout in two-thirds of an inning.
INSIDE THE BOX | GM 2
- Scott finished 2-for-3, including the two-RBI single that gave the Hornets the 7-5 lead in the fifth.
- DeRamus was 2-for-2 with a double and two walks.
