DATYONA, Fla. | Bethune-Cookman scored seven unanswered runs to erase a 3-1 deficit in an 8-3 win over Alabama State University softball on Friday at Sunnyland Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wildcats plated a run on a wild pitch to take a 1-0 lead in the second inning.
- Alabama State used a three-run fourth inning to take a 3-1 lead. Alexia Denby doubled home run and two runs scored on BCU errors.
- Haley Parks' RBI triple highlighted a two-run fourth that forged BCU to a 4-3 lead.
- Bethune-Cookman added a run on a bases loaded walk to extend the lead to 5-3 in the fifth.
- Desirae Martinez gave BCU an 8-3 lead with a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Bailey Greenlee (10-6) struck out six but gave up eight runs on nine hits with seven walks to suffer the loss for the Lady Hornets.
- Haylne Gonzalez (8-10) earned the win, posting seven strikeouts against no walks while giving up three runs on five hits.
INSIDE THE BOX
- The Lady Hornets had six hits with Alexia Denby's RBI double as the only extra base hit.
- Alana Scott went 2-for-3 as the only player with multiple hits for Alabama State.
