MONTGOMERY, Ala.. | Alabama State University dropped game one of the three-game series to rival Alabama A&M 4-2 on Friday at the Barabra Williams Softball Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED  
	- Zahria Jones RBI single in the top of the first put the Bulldogs up 1-0 in the first. 
 
	- Alex Preston singled home Alana Scott to tie the game 1-1 in the bottom of the third. 
 
	- Taylor Woods sac bunt plated a run and another run scored on an error as AAMU grabbed a 3-1 lead in the top of the second. 
 
	- Jaeda Gardner cut the the AAMU lead to 3-2 with an RBI single in the bottom of the second.
 
	- Zahria Jones belted a solo home run in the third to extend the lead to 4-2.
 
IN THE CIRCLE  
	- Ashley Pye (5-6) gave upr three runs on four hits wtih a strikeout and a walk in one inning as the pitcher of record for Alabama State.
 
	- Paige Scott (8-3) tossed a complete game, allowing two runs on nine hits with three strikeouts to eanr the win.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
	- Scott was 2-for-3 with a double. 
 
	- Gardner had two hits and an RBI.
 
	- Rogers had two singles and an RBI and Preston had an RBI single.
 
UP NEXT: First pitch for game two between Alabama State University and Alabama A&M is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday. It is also Senior Day with ceremonies starting at 2:25 p.m.
