POST GAME QUOTES
Kisean Johnson on his big game
"It was a lot of early mornings and late nights. For me it's about continuing to want more and never getting satisfied. When them lights come on in the stadium its showtime."
Davis and Johnson on offensive success
"It's that 4 to 1 connection. We always communicating. When he sees something I let him now and when he sees something I let him know.
JaWon Howell on performance
"I felt great in our preparation. We wanted to show them something knew.
Davis on offensive success
"For me I just trust in my o-line and my receivers.
"Yeah we had some quick plays and screens early in the game, so that allowed us to open up the field We wanted to play fast and set them up the whole time."
Davis on year two improvements
"Yeah I know I need to get better as a passer. My goal is to make the NFL and it's a passing league."
Johnson on year 2 improvements
"I knew it was going to be a big game. I knew that Wednesday. But my mind is on Miles. That's where my mind at."
JaWon Howell on the defense
"I would say intensity. We kept telling them we got their backs. Seeing them make plays made us want to make plays.
Davis on trick plays
"Yeah we added some misdirection. So yeah you can expect it moving forward."
Howell on performance
"It was solid tonight. I always want to get better. I will go back and watch the film to see if I missed a hole and get better."
Eddie Robinson Opening Statement
"Obviously its college football its a great time to be at the home stadium. Anytime you get a victory over SWAC team. This is the type of game we wanted, we wanted a physical game. These guys did a great job with turnovers, I think the biggest thing that killed us like last year was penalties and we didn't turn the ball over. But overall we wanted to embody "Protect our house". We wanted to send everybody home happy to the tailgates. Shoutout to coach Dooley he did a great job preparing his team. That was a heck of a play by Mickey Victor, that was huge play by him."
Robinson on the defense…
"Yeah I mean we talked about it. We got a lot of turnovers in practice. This game we did a great job making plays on the ball. Sometimes I tell the offense they look pretty bad but they are played a top 20 defense. I still believe defense wins championships."
Robinson on the emergence of Kisean Johnson
"I always say Kisean has a Jerry Rice work ethic. When quarterbacks don't want to stay out there with him, he will stay out there and run routes on air. He's a hard working guy, out of my time in the NFL and college hes one of the hardest working a guys I've ever seen. He has to touch the ball in order for us to be successful.
Robinson on Davis's performance
"I thought he did a good job getting out the pocket because we don't want him to be a pocket passer. I always tell him that if I'm a linebacker I want to keep him in the pocket. He is learning and maturing as quarterback. I think his best football is ahead of him."
Robinson on halftime message
"Dooley is a great guy and he had us on our heels early. This was the first time young guys were playing. In the second half that pass rush started to get there and we have about 8-10 guys we play on the line. Our goal is to wear that offensive line down.
Robinson on red zone struggles
"We have to correct the red zone. That was a good defense they were the SWAC west champions last year and they have a good chance of making it back this year."
