HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jackson State got off to a quick start taking 13-3 lead to start the game.
- The Tigers closed the quarter on a 9-0 run to carry 27-7 lead into the second quarter.
- A 6-0 run coupled with a 3:17 JSU scoring drought helped the Lady Hornets deficit to 41-24 at the half.
- Alabama State outscored the Tigers 17-14 in the second quarter.
- Alabama State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Hornets faced a 59-37 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Alabama State played well near the basket, scoring eight of its 13 points in the paint.
- Alabama State narrowed its deficit to 62-41 before going on a 6-0 run, finished off by Ryin Tillis' jumper, to shrink the deficit to 62-47 with 6:11 to go in the contest.
