MOBILE, Ala. | The Alabama State University women's basketball dropped a hard fought 66-49 decision to Alabama A&M on Monday at the Mitchell Center in the Bridge Builders Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Alabama State got out to a 5-0 lead before the Lady Bulldogs outscored ASU 17-6 to close the opening quarter with an 17-11 lead.
• AAMU did not score the final 5:47 of the second quarter as the Lady Hornets closed the gap to 23-17 at the half.
• Alabama State opened the third quarter on a 9-2 run to take a 26-25 lead with 6:57 to play.
• Alabama State held a 28-27 lead before a 14-1 run put Alabama A&M up 41-29 with 3:00 to go in the third quarter.
• AAMU carried a 44-34 to the final quarter.
• Alabama State got within 13 points in the fourth quarter but AAMU outscored ASU 22-15 in the quarter to secure the win. 

NOTES:

• Cordasia Harris led the Lady Hornets with 12 points and five rebounds.
• Justina Graham and Ashley Gray had six points apiece for ASU.
• Victoria Dixon had 16 points and Amiah Simmons had 15 points to lead AAMU.
• Alisha Wilson had 11 points and 11 rebounds for AAMU.
