HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alabama State went cold not scoring for a span of 5:24 in the first quarter.
- Prairie View closed the quarter on an 8-0 run to take an 18-8 lead into the second quarter.
- April Hooks and DK Sanders made back-to-back 3-pointers to close ASU's deficit to 20-16 midway through the second quarter.
- Alabama State outscored the Panthers 16-11 in the second quarter to trail 29-24 at halftime.
- A Solangelei Akridge basketball and two free Kristian Jackson free throws tied the game 29-29 to open the third stanza.
- The Panthers followed with an 8-0 run to regain the lead at 37-29 with 5:39 left in the third quarter.
- A 6:43 scoring drought by the Panthers allowed the Lady Hornets to close the PV to 44-34 with 3;16 left in the final quarter.
- A Harris 3-point play and a Jackson layup cut the advantage got ASU with one-point.
