Alabama State University fosters a culture of excellence, respect, and integrity on and off the field. We understand that tensions and emotions run high during competition and protecting our house is a priority. However, fighting is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Our student-athletes represent ASU, and we expect them to uphold the highest standards of personal conduct.  
 
After thoroughly reviewing the incident, the SWAC office determined nine players would receive a one-game suspension While we respect this decision, the ASU Department of Athletics and Football program, has decided to suspend three of the nine players involved in the post-game incident for the remainder of the season.

We sincerely apologize to Hornet Nation and the ASU community. This incident does not reflect our standards or values. We are committed to ensuring our student-athletes honorably represent Alabama State University.
