COLUMBIA, Mo. --The Alabama State men's basketball team got a 49-point showing from the bench but fell 82-65 to the Missouri Tigers on the road Monday.
The Hornets had two players score in double figures, led by D'Ante Bass, who had 14 points and two steals. Tyler Mack added 11 points off the bench, and TJ Madlock added five points, seven rebounds, and two steals.
Led by Jasteven Walker's four offensive rebounds, ASU did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 10 boards that resulted in six second-chance points.
How It Happened
ASU struggled out of the gate, falling behind 42-24 heading into halftime.
Missouri kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing an 80-54 advantage before ASU went on an 8-0 run to shrink the deficit to 80-62 with 1:19 to go in the contest. The Hornets kept their comeback going, but Missouri managed to hold on for the 82-65 win. ASU got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 37 of its 41 total points.
