JACKSON, Miss. | Freshman Melisa Mekic won her first career conference single match to help the Alabama State University women's tennis team to a 4- win over Praire Viwe A&M.

The doubles teams of Bea Acena and Madalena Andrade and Timothée Legaud and Carmelle Vial earned wins to had ASU the doubles point and 1-0 lead heading to singles. 

Wins by Makic won at No. 6 singles, adalena Andrade st No. 3 and Timothee Legaud at No. 5 singles.

Alabama State continues play in the SWAC POD II against Grambling State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
