MONTGOMERY, Ala.. | Junior Kyler McIntosh drove in five runs to help power the Alabama State Univeristy past the Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks 17-5 on Saturday.

Junior Jose Almazan (2-1) got the win for Alabama State (4-5). The right-hander went five innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on five hits, allowing three walks and striking out six. Junior Caio Araujo also pitched well, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit, walking none and striking out one.

McIntosh went 3-for-3 with two doubles in addition to his five RBIs for the Hornets. Senior Cristian Lopez put together a standout effort as well, going 3-for-6 with a home run and two RBI. Senior Randy Flores also contributed for Alabama State, putting together three hits in six trips to the plate while adding a triple and two RBI.

The Hornets scored in seven different innings on the way to the win. Alabama State broke a 1-1 tie and took the lead for good at 2-1 in the first inning on Maryland-Eastern Shore's error with Lopez at the plate that brought home Flores.
