Pousson dominant for Alabama State in shutout win against MVSU

MONTGOMERY, Ala- | Freshman Kohana Pousson was dealing on Saturday, throwing a four-hit shutout to lead the Alabama State softball  past Mississippi Valley State, 11-0, in game one of Saturday's doubleheader..

Pousson (3-6) went the distance for Alabama State (20-23, ), giving up four hits, walking none and striking out two.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hornets took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Alabama State's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a two-run double off the bat of junior Leah Richardson.

The Hornets then tacked on runs in the second and fourth innings, with their biggest output coming in the fourth when they scored four times. The big hit in that inning was a two-run double off the bat of senior Kindal DeRamus.
