Acena, Legaud Garner All-SWAC Honors, Christianz Named COY

NEW ORLEANS, La. | Alabama State's Anuk Christiansz was named Co-Coach of the Year for the Southwestern Athletic Conference womens All-Tennis team Thursday by league coaches and officials.
 
Christiansz, who was also named Coach of the Year in mens' tennis, led the Hornets to a first-place tie in the regular season with an 8-1 conference record and a 12-8 overall record. They tied with Florida A&M and Jackson State for the title but gained a No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
 
ASU placed two players on the All-SWAC team with Bea Acena picked as first team Singles Position No. 5 and Timothee Legaud selected as the first team Singles Position No. 6.
 
Alabama State opens the SWAC Tournament on Saturday, April 20 at the City Park Tennis Center in New Orleans.
