GRAMBLING, La. --The Alabama State volleyball team defeated the Grambling Lady Tigers 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 15-8) Monday on the road at Fredrick C Hobdy Assembly Center.
The victory boosted the Lady Hornets' record to 5-10 overall and 2-0 in SWAC play.
The Lady Hornets attack was paced by Jyriah Morgan, who finished with 17 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .333, and by Christyn Ashby, who had 14 while hitting .4. Defensively, had three players reach double figures in digs, including Breanna Swanson's 18, 17 from Brooke Adams, and 15 more from Sierra Scanlan. From the front row, Kaylen Hines contributed seven blocks.
