BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Temperance Chatman was named the SWAC Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, the league office announced.

Chatman, the Preseason SWAC Libero of the Year, was a key reason the Lady Hornets went 3-0 with wins over Louisiana-Monroe, South Carolina State, and Nicholls State at the ASU Invitational.

The Jasper, Alabama native tallied 48 digs (19 vs. ULM, 18 vs. SCSU, and 11 vs. Nicholls State) and delivered five service aces. Chatman also added 10 assists.
