BOULDER, Colo. -- Alabama State continued its' tough start to the season when they played at Colorado, falling to the Buffaloes Tuesday night in Boulder 94–66 at the CU Events Center. The Hornets (2–2) never led as the Buffaloes (4–0) used a dominant first-half surge and steady inside scoring to control the matchup from start to finish.
Colorado opened the night on a 6–0 run and quickly pushed the margin to double digits, capitalizing on early ASU turnovers and establishing strong interior play. The Buffaloes shot 53.8% in the first half and held a 46–22 lead at the break, outscoring the Hornets 20–10 in the paint and 16–3 in fast-break points over the opening 20 minutes.
ASU found more rhythm after halftime, shooting 60% from three (9–15) and putting up 44 second-half points. Cameron Palesse had his best game as a Hornet, scoring 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 from deep. Asjon Anderson added a team-high 15 points and a game-high six assists. Micah Simpson finished with nine points and a team-best three steals, while Tyler Mason scored 11 points and pulled down six rebounds. Bench production was a bright spot, contributing 40 of the Hornets' 66 points.
Colorado countered with balanced scoring and consistent efficiency, shooting 53.6% from the field and 77.8% at the line. Bangot Dak (16 points, 7 rebounds) and Sebastian Rancik (14 points) led the Buffs, who dominated inside with 48 points in the paint and a 46–33 rebounding advantage.
The Hornets continue their road trip in Colorado when they play at Air Force Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. CT.
