MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The NCAA national office released the 2023-24 Graduation Success Rate report for the 2015-2018 cohorts for all NCAA Division I institutions as part of the annual Academic Performance Program.
Alabama State student-athletes graduated at an 79 percent rate during that time, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics had multiple teams graduate 80 percent or more of their student-athletes during that same time period. The 81 percent rate included an 86 percent GSR for female-student athletes and 73 percent GSR male student-athletes.
The men's and women's tennis teams and women's bowling boast a 100 percent GSR followed by men's cross country/track and field (94), women's soccer 94 percent, women's softball at 86 percent, women's cross country/track and field (82), and women's basketball at 81 percent.
The Graduation Success Rate data shows the percentage of student-athletes earning a degree within six years of entering college. The NCAA developed the Graduation Success Rate to account for student-athletes not tracked by the federal graduation rate, which includes transfers into Alabama State and student-athletes who transferred from Alabama State in good academic standing.
