BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State University snagged two-more Southwester Athletic Conference Weekly Football honors on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025.

Quarterback Te'Sean Smoot was named the SWAC Newcomer of the Week for the second straight week and Andrew Abu-Akel was named the SWAC Specialist of the Week.

Smoot accounted for 295 total yards, passing for 271 and rushing for 24, against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Springfield, Ohio, native completed 20-of-28 passes for 71.4 percent and four touchdowns while rushing four times for 24 yards.

Abu-Akel accounted for 14 of ASU's 44 points in the ASU win over UAPB. The Hollywood, Fla., native made all three of his field go tries, connecting from 23, 38 and 44 yards and was a perfect 5-for-5 on extra points.
